Johnny Roberts Carrera Layout

Just a few pictures of my track. The track is Carrera and each lane measures 70.94 feet. The table was custom built to maximize the available space in a spare bedroom. A textured coat of pant was laid down and then covered by a thick piece of felt. Dual power taps have been installed and run off a LOKO DPS400 GL power supply. XLR connectors, similar to Houston Scale Auto Racing ( my local track) are used for controller connections.

In this picture, you can see the photo-resistors located along the dotted start/finish line. These are connected to the dedicated timing computer running SPTS. The light bar is custom made and allows for racing in the dimly lit room to simulate night racing. Most racing on this track is done Lemans style so the resistors also act as the pit stop for more virtual fuel. The crowd you see is mostly hand painted.

Special thanks go to Mel Silva, Jon Randall and Houston Scale Auto Racing for all the help, advice and encouragement.

Many thanks to Home Racing World and other track owners for the inspiration to build my dream track.
