These are all limited bodies and once they are gone, they will likely not be made again.
So in other words, if you want one I would get one now.
Using the Scalextric START LMP chassis. Inexpensive and a great platform to hack up.
You get 2 cars for under $44.00. Since I will use the motor, gears, most of the chassis and front axle, I feel you get your money's worth.
I wanted the right look and only the CBD insert wheels allow that for me.
These look great on this car to me.
Using the front stock axle. Just sanded the knurling flush until the wheel slid on smoothly.
I used a spare SCX PRO 26 tooth crown, Slot.it axle and Slot Car Corner bushings in the rear.
In truth I could have used the stock axle and gearing and just sanded the knurling but I had these parts and wanted to try them.
I cut this chassis up quite a bit and added styrene sheets as shown.
As I did not know how it would turn out, I forgot to take more "in process" photos.
Most of you will figure it out though.
Besides, this is just my first approach. You will figure out
your own way if you choose this platform.
In mock up stages.
Plenty of work yet to do. But it is taking shape.
Done! Used leftover 1/24 Yesterdays Allison decals. Little big...but not too bad.
Interior is a slice of a playing card with styrene tubing glued in.
Driver figure is also a MT RESIN. You can swap the heads to make it modern or classic.
In back is the 1/25 scale big brother.
Fun build overall and very happy with the chassis. It runs smooth as glass too.
