Readers Roads - Spring Valley Raceway
by Jay Jackson

This is a good old fashioned all-Artin 4x8 track with 37 feet of track and as little spaghetti effect as possible. Most of the structures are Carrera paper scissors and glue buildings. The biggest challenge was finding enough real estate to put the buildings. The backdrop was made from 22 sheets of 8 1/2" x 11" heavy paper. There are considerable elevation changes and some moderate banking at the start/finish end. I run primarily GB Track Chevrons and Porsche 917 cars, each with an additional Scalextric bar magnet just a bit ahead of the motor. Some like it fast! Crazy as it sounds, you can get some pretty big slides from these things and still hold on. Lap times are a tick over 3 seconds. Lots of fun! I have other cars with less magnet for that kind of racing.
