"Vintage St-Pie Raceway II"
By Didier Le Gall

A friend of mine introduced me to your site via a layout that you posted on your site, a very rare Strombecker 3 lane layout from Todd Brace. WOW!

I do have a Strombecker track myself, named "Vintage St-Pie Raceway II". 4 lanes, 94' on a 8'x24½' table, 6 power taps, powered with a 0-30 volts 10 amps power supply. I have 4 drivers stations, 2 on each side of the track, with variable brakes, XLR connector or alligator clip. I added 50 lamp posts, each equipped with a 8 volts ,350 amps light, powered by a 12 volts 2 amps AC power supply, so I can organize night races. I use Trakmate as race management. I'm really proud of my 7 doors garage, made of wood I had here and there. My girl friend added her touch and gave me a hand with the scenery, she's more patient than me ;-) and build trees and road path. I also built home made stairs and ramps to fit my 2 Goodyear bridges on a 4 lane track. I put almost 800 feet of color tape to identify the color of each lane, blue, yellow, red and green. It is easier for the marshal to put the cars back on the right track after an accident.

Best lap time are around 9 seconds with Scalextric Ford GT-40, NASCAR and Porsche Boxter, and slowest times are around 15 seconds with non magnet cars.

Hope that other slot car fanatics will appreciate the work done here.

Sincerely,
Didier Le Gall
