It creates great racing as there is up and down sections as well as a Monaco inspired descending hairpin, and also in using an intersection/crossover to make things interesting.

I run all cars, Carrera, SCX, Scalextric, Reprotec, Fly, Ninco all run pretty well, the Carrera`s take a while to wind up but a lot of fun.
